WHEN THE WAR IS OVER
AND THE BATTLING IS DONE.
THE VICTOR STARTS TO COUNT HIS SPOILS,
TO SEE HOW MUCH THEY'VE WON.
THEY COUNT THEIR DEAD AND WOUNDED
AND TALLY UP THEIR SCORE.
AND WONDER IF IT WAS WORTH IT ALL
TO START ANOTHER WAR.
WHEN THEW BATTLING IS OVER AND THE
GHOSTLY MIST DOES SPREAD.
THE ONLY SOULS THAT ARE LYING THERE,
ARE THE DYING AND THE DEAD.
AND THE WOUNDS OF THE BATTLE WILL
SOON REVEAL.
THAT THE WOUNDS OF THE MIND WILL
NEVER HEAL.
SO TALLY UP YOUR WOUNDED AND TAKE A
TOLL OF ALL YOUR DEAD.
WAS IT WORTH ALL THEN PAIN AND ANGUISH
FOR THE RIVER OF BLOOD THEY SHED.
