MY SEASONS ARE OVER

MY SEASONS ARE OVER THIS OLD MAN SAID.
I'M CRIPPLED WITH PAIN AND CONFINED
TO MY BED.
I USED TO RUN AND PLAY IN THE BLUSTERY
COLD.
AND NOW MY BONES ARE ACHING AND I'VE
GROWN VERY OLDS.

I USED TO BE HEARTY AND AS QUICK AS A
DEER
BUT NOW I'M OLD AND LISTLESS AND LIE
HELPLESS HERE.
I USED TO HAVE MUSCELS WHERE MUSCLES
SHOULD BE.
BUT NOW MY SKIN BARELY HOLDS ONTO ME.

LONELY NOW HAUNTS ME IN MY HALLS OF
DISPAIR.
AND GRIPS ME VERY TIGHTLY, I'VE GOT
MORE THAN MY SHARE.
SOMETIMES I LOOK FOWARD TO THIS
SHADOW CALLED DEATH.

BUT I'M ALWAYS AFRAID OF TAKING MY
VERY LAST BREATH.
I KNOW THAT MAN IS DESTANT FROM THE
MOMENT OF HIS BIRTH.
TO LIVE AND DIE AND SLOWLY RETURN
TO THE EARTH.

AND AS A TEAR ROLLED FROM HIS WATERY
EYE.
HE LOOKED TO HIS GOD AND SILENLY SAID,
WHAT CAN AN OLD MAN DO NOW BUT DIE.
