PROGRESS
Both sides must tend their wounds
A brave and noble gesture
Lies buried in six-foot wombs
The land was taken slowly
A price paid to be free
No foreign tongue is spoken
In these pages of history
The medals have been awarded
They are worn for prosperity
A general cloth is fitted
To our body of indignities
Communication now must open
Understanding may soon build trust
Economics have played a major role
So greed may sleep with lust
The laws have been expanded
So peace may reign supreme
We reap the fruits of living
Now watered from a poison stream
We teach our children proper
With a class in humanity
The symbol of our motion
Is our undying calamities.
