Praising Ourselves
Yet we are scoffed by many should we give it to ourselves
This is the unseen prison and we are its wardens and guards
Until we learn to truly praise ourselves
We are only inmates blocked from each other
By the bars of a tradition of control by belittlement
We are all much greater than we are taught to believe
