"Car Guards"

Woke up one morning and there they were
and it's been so many years but still a blur
This phenomenon called ' car guards'
Coming from Zimbabwe, Congo and other parts
occupying Shopping Mall’s parking areas
and places that's sometimes precarious

With their green vest and identification cards
standing ready to guide you going backwards
Attempting to speak the language of the locals
Trying to make sense in their own foreign vocals
Good morning Sir, Madam, how are you doing?
You just see white teeth showing

Some park their cars very far to avoid them
Please, they didn't come to steal or to scam
they only want to make a living, and in essence
we are protected by their presence
One cannot deny ever since they came
parking is no longer the same
